Napa Valley Criminal Justice Training Center

We Need Your Help And Support

Leadership  l   Ethics   l   Community Policing

Since 1983, the Napa Valley Criminal Justice Training Center has been training new police officers, deputy sheriffs, correctional officers, dispatchers, and working law enforcement personnel from all over California.  Many of these professionals are serving local agencies in Napa and Solano County.  We offer high quality entry-level and advanced training programs at a cost much lower than many other centers in California.

In order to provide the highest quality of training possible, we have a need for new facilities as well as for new and replacement equipment.  As much as we receive from Napa Valley College, it is not enough to purchase all that we need.  We know that people are looking to support organizations that are reputable and who serve the best interests of society and we invite you to consider a donation to the Criminal Justice Training Center at Napa Valley College.

In 2008, Napa Valley College will be constructing a new two-story auxiliary gym that will include one floor dedicated for use by the training center.  This facility will provide much needed gym space and storage for our program.  In addition, the college is developing space for emergency vehicle operations training and a permanent location for our physical training and testing program.  All of these new facilities will be available for local law enforcement agencies to use for training.  You can become part of this development project.

Every donation made to benefit the Napa Valley College Criminal Justice Training Center can be made as a tax deductible contribution through the Napa Valley College Foundation, a non-profit 501(3)(c) organization.  Every dollar donated to us will go directly to purchasing equipment and facilities directly benefiting students attending law enforcement, corrections, and dispatcher training programs.  It shall be used exclusively for facilities improvement and equipment - never for personnel salaries.

This website offers a variety of ways for you to invest in the future of law enforcement.  Please take a few minutes to review these options.  You can donate immediately online through this web page or, if you prefer, we welcome you to send a contribution in our name directly to the Napa Valley College Foundation.  You will receive a letter of thanks from the Napa Valley College Foundation that you can use for a tax deduction.

Our donation site is set up like an online store.  We are offering a variety of logo items as a token of our thanks for your donation.  In addition, we have several major projects that we are developing that you can contribute to directly.  Please visit this site periodically as we will post new projects and specific equipment that we need your help in purchasing.

Help Us Reach Our $100,000 Goal

In order to best serve the needs of our community and the law enforcement profession, we are planning for the future and looking for generous partners to help us reach our goals.  If you are looking for a unique way to invest in the future of law enforcement, consider adopting one of the following special projects and becoming a partner with us in training police officers and deputy sheriffs working in your community.

Some of these projects exceed $10,000.00 (the limit of a single donation made online), however, if you are interested in donating a larger amount, please call the Napa Valley College Foundation at 707-253-3378 directly to make the necessary arrangements. Any donation made that funds 100% of the purchase will include having the donor's name placed on the item.

Our new gym facility is scheduled to be complete and open in 2009.  It will be used for physical fitness and weaponless defense training.  Help us buy the floor mats necessary to conduct this training safely and to protect our students from injury.  The total cost of this project is $50,000.

The college built the academy a new area to conduct driver training for our new police officers.  We need to purchase a "Skid Car" to teach officers who to avoid accidents and to retain control of a police car in emergency situations.  This piece of equipment is $50,000.

We need to replace the protective suits used by our instructors while teaching new police officers how to protect themselves while in a fight.  "Fist Suits" enable our instructors to create realistic scenarios for our students without causing injury. One complete suit is $1500.00

Another way to donate on a regular basis or to spread out your contribution is to set up a monthly donation plan.  You can select from one of the following plans to have a set amount donated each month automatically and receive a letter at the end of each year with your total contribution.

Become an "Honorary Member" of this year's Academy Class with a monthly donation of $50.00.

Become a member of the "Academy Dean's Honor Role" with a monthly donation of $100.00.
