There are many things that set our Training Center apart
from others, but the one I am most proud of is our focus on students and student success.
We put students first in everything that we do. Our instructional staff includes over 100 part time law
enforcement, corrections, and legal professionals. We require all of our
instructors to complete state certified instructional skills training
because we also believe that students learn best by doing. The
evaluations our graduates provide consistently praise the high quality of the
learning experience they received at our Training Center.
The law enforcement profession is constantly evolving
and we believe the role of the academy is to become part of this evolution
by training on the latest techniques using state-of-the-art technology and
the best subject matter experts we can find. We have an educational
philosophy that includes placing a heavy emphasis on leadership, ethics,
and community policing across our curriculum. In today's world, we
also believe officer safety must be part of every class in every program.
In 2008, we will expand our corrections training program by offering the
Juvenile Corrections Core Course and Probation Core Course. We
will offer 3 Adult Corrections Core Courses and hope to bring back the
very successful Basic Correctional Officer Academy for the California
Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. We hope to begin
offering a POST certified Hate Crimes Investigations Course online so
that officers can attend training without leaving their own department.
Whether you are looking for training to be
a police officer, 9-1-1 dispatcher, paralegal, or probation officer, I invite you to explore what we have to offer you
through this website. Better yet, I extend to you a personal
invitation to visit our facility and for you to see for yourself what we
can do for your career.
